Mellie has made her choice and that is Vargas’ widow as Veep. Peus doesn’t buy it and doesn’t appreciate Samantha being kept as a hostage . Fitz is helpless as he hears what can happen in the sit room. There are nine drones that are hovering over nine major cities in the US that are filled with explosives ready to detonate. Olivia is not playing and tells Peus that the President doesn’t deal with terrorists. The next thing the screens shows is a drone that detonates over Dallas. A look of terror crosses Fitz’s face.
In his last days as President, Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) is being threatened with Armageddon .
Fitz realizes something. That he will be remembered for the attacks in the last weeks of his Presidency. This isn’t how he wanted to go out and especially since it finally looks like he and Liv will get their happy ending. He also realizes that Rowan could be part of Peus as well. Rowan is terrified and wants Liv to run with him or she is dead. Fitz wants to talk to him alone. In the meantime, Huck has hacked into Rowan’s lab where he is delivered a box on random days with a brick that weights about 9lbs. This puzzles everyone and that includes Fitz. During his talk, Rowan admits his fears. The brick is the same weight as a human head. Fitz also realizes that Rowan’s greatest accomplishment is his daughter. For the first time, Rowan realizes that Fitz indeed loves Olivia .
Joe Morton wins the MVG award for this week’s episode. Here he is talking with Fitz about his greatest treasure . Olivia , his daughter.
Jake contributes to the situation with his knowledge of dealing with situations as Naval Intelligence. He has to find out where Peus is and he tries to make a bargain . She won’t budge and he is forced to tear the tracking device out of her neck. He hands it to Huck and then he tries to trace where Peus is . Samantha agrees to make a deal and Jake sends in Rosen since he had dealt with her the most. She really liked him and chose to tell him her real name and that is Grace. He is appalled by her and hates her. Grace knows they are bluffing about having Peus and says no deal. Rosen loses his temper and slaps Grace.
David (Joshua Malina) brings a deal to the Mystery Lady (Zoe Perry)
Rowan has one more card to play and he asks Fitz to help. He thinks he can do something. Abby is shut out of the Oval and Cyrus is back in. It seems that the band is indeed back together. Olivia accompanies him to see Grace and then he goes off on Peus and her. The White House is safe once again. Obviously this week’s MVG award goes to Rowan aka Joe Morton. Morton is an amazing actor who has won the Emmy for his role on “Scandal” . It is no wonder that is this is the case. For almost four years, he has manipulated and terrorized his daughter and all heirs apparent. He has murdered a young boy for the sake of the Republic. It was more like the action’s of a jealous father and his fear of losing control. This week , Rowan stepped up and actually helped Fitz this time. In the past few weeks, he has shown his vulnerability and his ability to love. He also allowed himself to be a bargaining chip when Peus first took over the Presidency. He also took Olivia’s place when Angela was gunning for her. We have only seen Rowan as a vicious killer with no heart and only serving the Republic. We have also seen countless accounts of people who have tried to take him down and he has proven to be invincible I have also had my theories of the past relationships of him and Fitz and Cyrus. He saw Jake as the son he never had, as well as Russell. This week, we saw him as the father who was scared of losing his daughter. Peus manipulated him by threatening her life. But it was Fitz who said that “Olivia was his legacy.” Rowan ended the crisis and by doing that he allowed his daughter to have the peace that she so deserves. But don’t count on him escorting Olivia down the aisle . After all, you can’t take command.
Next week: Is this the end of OPA? Olivia (Kerry Washington) gets ready to take her place in the White House , as well as her future with Fitz
